Course details

Train with Learn2Pass and qualify to drive full-size coaches and buses. Whether you want stable local work or the chance to travel nationwide, we provide one-to-one tuition, guidance through every stage, and introductions to operators once you qualify.

What does PCV training cost?

Training price: £1,395 + VAT, or £1,829 all in. The all-in price covers five full days of one-to-one training plus the DVSA Off-Road Exercises Test (£40) and On-Road Driving Test (£115). DVSA fees are not VAT-rated, so they are added after VAT rather than before it. Finance is available through Snap Finance.

What is a Category D licence?

Category D is the full PCV licence. It lets you drive any bus or coach with more than eight passenger seats, with a trailer up to 750kg. It is what scheduled bus operators, coach companies and school transport contractors recruit for. If you only need to drive a minibus with up to 16 seats, D1 is the smaller route.

Do I need a Class 2 or HGV licence first?

No. PCV is a separate route from HGV and you can go straight to Category D from a car licence. You will need a D4 medical and a provisional PCV entitlement first, and we handle both.

How long does it take?

Five days of training at our Sittingbourne centre once your medical, provisional application and theory test are done. You test at the Gillingham DVSA test centre on the routes you have trained on.

What is included in the price?

Every licence course includes one-to-one training with a DVSA-approved instructor, our training vehicle for your lessons and your test, VAT, and the DVSA off-road exercises test and on-road driving test. Class 2 and Car to Class 1 also include the Driver CPC Module 4 test. Driver CPC Module 4 and refresher courses are priced plus VAT, and the Module 4 test fee is paid separately.

What do I pay for separately?

For a licence course, your D4 medical and your theory tests, which you book with the DVSA. We tell you what each one costs before you book, so you can budget for the whole route.

What do I need before I start training?

For a new licence you need a D4 medical, provisional entitlement for the licence and your theory tests before your practical training. We help you with each one. Refresher and Driver CPC Module 4 courses are for drivers who already hold the licence.

Can I pay monthly?

Yes. We work with Snap Finance, so you can spread the cost into monthly payments, subject to status. You can check your eligibility online in a few minutes, and checking does not commit you to booking.

What is the Price Match Guarantee?

What happens if I do not pass first time?

No school can promise a pass, and you should be wary of any that does. If you need another go, we support you with extra training and a new test booking, quoted clearly at the time.
