HGV Training in Maidstone

At our training centre at Sittingbourne Logistics Park on Swale Way, reached from Maidstone on the A249 straight up to the M2. Your practical test is taken at the Gillingham DVSA test centre, and we train you on those test routes before the day so nothing on the route is new to you.

Class 2 (Category C) rigid lorry, Class 1 (Category C+E) articulated, C1 7.5 tonne for ambulance, NHS and courier work, PCV bus and coach (D1 and D), and Driver CPC modules. We will help you pick the route that matches the work you want rather than the biggest licence on the list.

Practical training usually runs 5 to 10 days depending on the licence and your starting experience. Including the D4 medical, provisional entitlement, theory and hazard perception tests, CPC modules and the practical exam, most people take around 6 to 8 weeks from first enquiry to licence.

It depends on the work you want and your budget. Class 2 gets you driving rigid lorries sooner and at lower cost, and you can upgrade to Class 1 later. Going straight to Class 1 costs more up front but opens articulated and trunking work immediately, which pays more. We will set out both routes with the real numbers so you can choose rather than guess.
