Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Where is Learn2Pass located and which areas do you cover for HGV and PCV training?
Learn2Pass HGV and PCV Training Kent operates from Gillingham Business Park, ME8 0PU, one of the most accessible training locations in the South East. Our centre is minutes from the M2 and A2, making it easy for learners travelling from across Medway and wider Kent.
We provide full HGV and PCV driver training for learners in Gillingham, Chatham, Rochester, Sittingbourne, Maidstone, Gravesend, Dartford, Canterbury, Strood, Rainham, Sheerness and all surrounding towns in Kent.
Many learners also travel from further afield because of our:
- High first-time pass rates
- DVSA-approved instructors
- Flexible evening and weekend slots
- Finance options through Snap Finance
If you are based anywhere in Kent, Medway or North Kent, we can train you. If you are unsure whether your area is covered, our team can confirm availability within minutes.
How fast can I start my HGV or PCV training after contacting Learn2Pass?
Most learners begin their HGV or PCV training within five to seven days of contacting us. Because we operate from Gillingham Business Park with multiple vehicles and pre-book examinations far in advance, we can offer consistent weekly start dates and faster onboarding than most training providers in Kent.
Once you get in touch, we can help you with:
- Booking your HGV medical (if needed)
- Applying for your provisional licence
- Guidance for the theory and hazard perception tests
- Choosing a training slot that fits your work schedule
- Evening and weekend availability for busy learners
If you already have your provisional licence and medical completed, we can place you into the next available training window, often within 72 hours, depending on vehicle and instructor availability.
Learners travel to us from Medway, Gillingham, Chatham, Sittingbourne, Maidstone and wider Kent largely because our start dates are more flexible and the waiting times are shorter compared to many schools in the region.
Do you offer finance or payment plans for HGV or PCV training?
Yes, finance options are now available with Learn2Pass x Snap Finance, allowing you to spread the cost of your HGV or PCV licence training over a repayment schedule that fits your budget. Finance is available on all courses including Class 2 (Category C), Class 1 (C+E), C1 (7.5 tonne) and PCV (D1 and D).
Many learners choose Snap Finance because it helps them start training sooner without needing to pay the full course fee upfront. Once approved, you can reserve your training dates immediately and begin preparing for your medical, theory and practical modules.
Snap Finance is popular with learners across Medway, Gillingham, Chatham, Maidstone, Sittingbourne and Gravesend, especially those looking to start training quickly while managing monthly payments.
If you want to explore finance options or check your eligibility, our advisors can help within minutes.

What types of HGV and PCV licences can I train for at Learn2Pass?
Learn2Pass provides full HGV and PCV driver training for every major commercial licence category. Our DVSA-approved instructors deliver structured, one-to-one training from our centre at Gillingham Business Park, ME8 0PU.
You can train for the following licences with us:
- Class 2 (Category C): This is the most common starting point for new drivers. It qualifies you to drive rigid lorries over 7.5 tonnes. Ideal for delivery, logistics, haulage and council work across Kent and Medway.
- Class 1 (Category C+E): This is the highest HGV qualification. It allows you to drive articulated lorries and earn higher salaries. Many learners upgrade from Class 2 to Class 1 through our progression pathway.
- C1 (7.5 Tonne Licence): Popular with ambulance service applicants, removals companies and learners needing light commercial vehicle training. No experience required.
- PCV (D1 Minibus): Suitable for minibus driving, school transport, community transport and care-sector roles.
- PCV (D Bus and Coach): Full bus and coach licence training for public transport and private hire sectors.
- Driver CPC: We provide both Initial CPC for new drivers and Periodic CPC for existing drivers needing to maintain their professional entitlement.
If you are unsure which licence is right for your goals, our advisors can explain the options, earning potential and typical job routes available across Medway, Gillingham, Sittingbourne, Maidstone and the wider Kent area.
Can Learn2Pass help me understand the full process to become a HGV driver?
Yes. We guide you through every stage of becoming a qualified HGV driver, from your first enquiry to passing your final test. Most learners start with no experience, so our advisors explain the full process in clear steps and help you avoid delays or mistakes.
The complete HGV training process includes:
1. Medical Examination - You need a DVLA-approved driver medical before you can apply for your provisional licence. We can help you arrange this and explain the documents required.
2. Provisional Licence Application - We guide you through the application for your HGV provisional (Category C or C+E), including what forms to use and how long the DVLA usually takes to approve them.
3. Theory and Hazard Perception Tests - We tell you which modules you need to book, provide study support and help you plan the fastest route through the theory stage. Many beginners find this stage confusing, so we simplify it for you.
4. Practical Training - This includes vehicle familiarisation, reversing practice, on-road driving and safety checks. Training is delivered one-to-one by DVSA-approved instructors at our centre in Gillingham Business Park, ME8 0PU.
5. Practical Test - We manage your test date and prepare you for the on-road assessment and reversing exercise. Most learners training with us pass on their first attempt.
6. Driver CPC - If you want to work professionally, we explain whether you need Initial CPC or Periodic CPC and guide you through whichever applies.
Throughout the process, our team provides clear step-by-step support so you always know what to do next. Learners from Medway, Gillingham, Chatham, Maidstone, Sittingbourne and wider Kent choose us because our guidance reduces waiting times and makes the process easier and faster.
If you are unsure where to start, our advisors can outline your personalised route in a few minutes.
