Where do Ashford learners train with Learn2Pass?

At our training centre at Sittingbourne Logistics Park on Swale Way, reached from Ashford on the M20 and A249. Your practical test is taken at the Gillingham DVSA test centre, which is the lorry and bus test centre serving Kent, and we train you on those routes beforehand.

What HGV and PCV licences can I train for?

Class 2 (Category C) rigid lorry, Class 1 (Category C+E) articulated, C1 7.5 tonne for ambulance, NHS and courier work, PCV bus and coach (D1 and D), and Driver CPC modules.

How long does HGV training take?

Practical training usually runs 5 to 10 days depending on the licence and your starting experience. Including the D4 medical, provisional entitlement, theory and hazard perception tests, CPC modules and the practical exam, most people take around 6 to 8 weeks from first enquiry to licence.

Is Class 1 worth it for international and Channel freight work?

For the trunking and container work that runs through the M20 corridor, Class 1 (Category C+E) is the licence that opens the most doors and pays best. If cost is the constraint, starting on Class 2 and upgrading later is a legitimate route and we will price both so you can decide with real numbers.

What driving work is there around Ashford?

Ashford sits on the M20 at the heart of the Channel freight corridor, with heavy movement through Sevington, Eurotunnel at Folkestone and the Port of Dover beyond. That makes it one of the strongest areas in Kent for HGV work, particularly for drivers holding Class 1.
